September 2013 Board Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7 pm and Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.
Board: Maggie Jones, , Susan Jamerson, Cathy Winterrowd, Mike Barr and Don Ulrey were present.  PSG Management: Larry Edwards and Susan Keene were present.
August Minutes were approved.  Don Ulrey, treasurer’s report:

Reserve Fund:…….. $137,071.22     Architectural Report: none.
Social Committee Report: Welcomed to our community Anne Inman/Nancy Fitzgerald. Suzie also read Thank You card received from Mrs. Jarret to Waterford residents and welcomed her back from her surgery.  Clubhouse carpet was cleaned on Wednesday the 18th.    Discussion with Avon Fire Department concerning the use of charcoal / gas grills in garages:  Susan Keene reported our insurance company; Nationwide mandates no grills should be used within 10 feet of the condos. Avon Fire Department recommends the same policy, and they noted danger in carbon monoxide buildup in a closed garage with charcoal.  Larry Edwards recommended that all propane tanks be stored outside. Any fire damage resulting from the use of a grill will be the responsibility of the home owner.  Informed the community of the Utility Shield protection plans offered through Citizens and Vectren regarding indoor electrical, water, sewage and gas line problems/ and outdoor water and sewer lines. Contact Citizens Water for more information, 1-888-544-4541.   October of last year the budget was presented- the budget for next year 2014, will be discussed at our next meeting October 17th.
Landscaping: Electrical for fountain on Waterford Ct pond is complete. Fountain will be installed next year. Bricks for sale for Shade Garden are $50.00 each. Bricks have been purchased to be placed around the remaining common utility areas. Blue bird houses are built and will be placed on posts in March.  Residents are receiving notices from Duke about the over growth on utility boxes. Duke stated no plantings around or close to boxes are allowed. Question raised about aeration: Larry Edwards (PSG) replied we are unable to aerate due to lack of rain at this time.     
New Business:     Complaint heard regarding our mowing schedule. Discussion was held regarding the “as needed” mowing schedule. Larry Edwards will discuss possible solution with Mr. Sandoval.
